The Art of the Dinner Party

Jennifer Rubell creates food projects that are a hybrid of performance and installation art. This particular occasion was a wedding at the Saatchi gallery where guests were invited to dine on unmade beds.

Maira Kalman

 I finally made it to the Maira Kalman exhibition (Maira Kalman: Various Illuminations (of a Crazy World) at the Jewish Museum last week.

charming. luminous. enchanting... I think I love her writing as much as her artwork.

Squeak Carnwath

I've loved Squeak Carnwath's work for a long long time. Leafing through her book always cheers me up. The book is now out of print but you might just get lucky enough to find one here.

As Carnwath puts it, " Art is the antidote that reminds us to breathe, to feel the soles of our feet and the touch of the ground on the bottom of our toes."
